Hope you had a great summer and welcome back to a new semester! An extra warm welcome to all of you who are new students, we hope you will enjoy yourself here at the university! We send newsletters continuously during the year, to all students, as a help in your studies. Also remember that the latest information is always available at hv.se/en/student

As a new student, you probably have some questions.

Here you will find answers to the most common student questions.

Are you an international master or PhD student?

The organization Move to Gothenburg aims to attract and welcome internationals to the region, and to get you to stay.

They now want to learn how to improve your stay and how to optimise the matching between high-skilled international academic talent with potential employers.

Please participate in this survey to help them better understand your experience of living and studying here.

Free course about stress

Stress is not actually dangerous in itself. It is the absence of recovery that makes stress unhealthy. Once you have completed this course, you will understand why and hopefully view stress in a new light. You will also acquire tools to help you manage your stress, as well as finding answers to many of your questions.

Mentor program for young entrepreneurs

The Prince Daniels Fellowship is a mentoring program that gives entrepreneurs the opportunity to get support in developing their company and themselves as entrepreneurs. The mentors are handpicked from the business world!

The application is open until September 8th and the program starts in 2024 and runs until 2025. Read more (in Swedish)!

Study abroad

Are you curious about studying or practicing abroad? On Tuesday September 5th between 12.15-13.00, outside Restaurang Västan, you can talk to some students who themselves have been abroad. Ask your questions and get more information!

And on Wednesday the 6th you can meet the International Office digitally, between 12.00-13.00. You can find the link under Information sessions.

Apply for remaining seats

Apply for remaining places at our partner universities within the EU (ERASMUS+) or outside (Overseas), before 10 September. The application applies to studies in spring 2024. Read more.

Collect international points

As a student at Högskolan Väst, you can get a Certificate of International Merits (CIM). It is a way to gain international experience and competence, through exchange or internationalization activities at home. Read more and apply.
