It´s a new year and we are moving towards spring time and brighter times. Unfortunately, we are once again in an situation where the infection is increasing sharply. Therefore, we need to make adjustments in accordance with the recommendations of the responsible authorities in order to reduce the spread of infection together. We understand that you as a student may feel anxious now that the spread of Corona is spreading again.
The government has given universities in Sweden a clear call to conduct education and examination on site as far as possible, but to review opportunities for partial distance education.
See the government's press conference on 11 January, regarding measures in the higher education area linked to the covid-19 pandemic (in swedish)
Qualitative education on site is something that the government and the public health authority emphasize as important and something that many students demand.
University West is currently working hard to create a safe and secure environment as possible to continue conducting teaching and examination on site. We actively monitor the development of the spread of infection and implement the necessary measures.
-
Additional measures are taken to create distance and sparse out in classrooms. Teachers and course leaders review opportunities for alternative premises and to divide classes into smaller groups, in order to reduce larger gatherings on campus.
-
Students can, via connected classrooms, digitally participate in teaching sessions on campus, where this is pedagogically possible.
-
Course coordinators review opportunities for teaching and which course elements can be completed at a distance.
-
Measures are implemented for a safe campus environment. Signage, halls are opened earlier so that congestion is avoided etc.
-
We continue to take measures to ensure that examinations planned on site can be carried out in a safe manner to avoid the spread of infection.
-
University West will, as far as possible, be generous with re-examination opportunities. Talk to your examiner or course coordinator about what options are available.
-
The graduation ceremony on January 14 will be held in limited form and will be live-streamed.
Protect yourself and others
We all have a great individual responsibility to show consideration and contribute to reducing the spread of infection.
Get vaccinated! Stay home if you feel sick. Help keep distance when you are in place. Follow the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations |
