“We now have 59 papers approved and ready for publication. They primarily come from Swedish universities but also from several international universities. Numerous of the articles are produced in collaboration with industrial companies, which makes us particularly pleased. We are really looking forward to meeting the authors and following their presentations at the conference", says Fabian Hanning, Associate Senior Lecturer and Conference Co-chair.

What is the main message of your presentation at SPS2024?

“All land vehicles will eventually be electrified for economic and environmental reasons (and industrial policy in some countries), but the transition will be uneven and uncertain.”

What do you consider to be the industry's biggest challenge for the future?

“The vehicle manufacturing Industries face a vast array of challenges, including conservative consumers, lagging electricity investments, politicization of vehicle electrification, and geopolitical concerns about the supply of critical materials and batteries.”

What are your expectations for the conference?

“All of us—researchers, industry, policymakers, and NGO advocates—need to address and understand the complexities of the electrification transition; this conference is one step forward in that process.”
