We asked some short questions to Ronja Palm who is studying to be a teacher in English and Swedish and who has just started her third year at University West.
How has the first time been in the "mixed format"? The first time with distance education, especially in the spring, was obviously a change and my own responsibility became more important but the teachers gave us a lot of material to work with around our tasks such as extra video reviews and articles that helped a lot in addition to the lectures via zoom. The teachers have been close at hand and acted quickly on questions via email, as an extra support.
What has been the biggest challenge? The biggest challenge has been the lack of the spontaneous meeting that takes place between us students and teachers, discussions that arise during lectures and the conversations between different parts of the classroom. The social part quite simply.
Have there been any positive things? The positive thing about the whole situation is that I studied more now than before the teaching was moved online. My own responsibility has increased and I come more prepared to the lecture, which serves as an opportunity to highlight things you have thought about with both the lecturer and the classmates. |
