VTI develops models for crash tests of both women and men

The aim is to be able to evaluate the protection provided by car seats in the event of a collision – and that it applies to everyone, regardless of gender. Researchers at VTI and Chalmers have therefore developed two seat evaluation tools that correspond to a female and a male occupant, respectively.

Finnish results from the European Baseline project for the alcohol, speed, and post-crash care KPIs

The European Baseline project aimed to develop and harmonise the methodology for collecting a set of key performance indicators concerning traffic safety in Europe. Finland was one of the 19 EU member states involved in the project.
