HEJ TO ALL STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITY WEST!

Hope you are fine wherever you are. In these dark times, we want to remind you to sometimes take a break from studying. Try to take a walk to get some air and daylight - despite the bad weather some days. Take care of yourself!

About studies and the situation with corona

Due to the increased spread of infection, the Swedish Public Health Agency announced new general guidelines for Västra Götaland on October 29. The guideline has now been extended and is valid until 13 December.

At the government's press conference November 16th, a proposal was presented for a prohibition on holding public gatherings and public events with more than eight participants. The prohibition is proposed to be valid from November 24th.

University West follows the Swedish Public Health Agency's recommendations, which means that we consider our business as a workplace. This means that our activities are not to be regarded as public gatherings. This means that we will have some education at campus when necessary. University West follows the regulations, general advice and recommendations that apply to the rest of society. We have implemented a large number of measures to make the campus as safe as possible.

Teaching and examination during the autumn is currently conducted mainly at a distance, but with certain parts on campus:

Distance when possible, campus when necessary.

We will keep both students and employees continuously informed about the situation and any changes decided on by university leadership. Stay up to date via the website and the newsletter that is sent out to all students.

If you have questions about teaching and examination, contact the responsible teacher in the first instance as soon as possible.

A greeting from the Student Union's chairman, Paulina Samuelsson

Everything is not as usual. We at the Student Union want to urge to all students that it is important that everyone takes personal responsibility! We know it's boring and we know it sucks but we'd rather see that we all make a common sacrifice now to be able to go back to some normality as soon as possible. To get there, we must help each other and take responsibility. Keep your distance and wash your hands, do not arrange or participate in parties or dinners with your friends. Rather stay at home and play games or watch movies with your friends over Discord or Zoom. Also keep an eye on our social channels for information on activities to participate in from home! With that said - take care of yourself and remember that the Student Union is here for you! Help us help you!

A greeting from the study counselors to all the University's students

Now it's November and half of the autumn term has passed. The University has been at a distance mode for 8 months and we understand that there may be some concern among both new and old students about how the studies are progressing. Questions that can occupy and worry students can often be resolved through conversations and information. We therefore want to take the opportunity to draw your attention to the opportunity to contact us study counselors with your questions and concerns. At the moment we do not offer meetings on campus, but we are happy to help you via email, phone and Zoom. Choose the form of communication that suits you best. Welcome to contact us!
